Finding Focus In Today's Hectic World

Recently, I've been experimenting with what things to do, or I should say, not do, to simplify my life and to save money. Letting go of my telephone land line, cable and internet service was the first step. I must say, the first five days left me with a feeling of being untethered from my moorings.

First thing upon returning home, I would turn on the television to hear the latest news or watch the latest shows out for the season. Trying to stay up to date with everything that's new, is exhausting. Finding a place of peace has replaced that burning urge to follow the latest trends and I find that I'm so much happier these days.

What amazed me, was that after only a few days, I found other things to replace the time spent on mindless "vegging" in front of the tube. I began tackling projects to fill the extra time and space in my life and I found that I felt better...more in control of my life. I feel more peaceful and productive. At this point, I'm content with what I'm doing and have even started thinking about a new business venture. What would you do if you had more time?
